| August 12, 2009 - Free Live Webcast – Authentication Nation |
|
As content providers make more and more of their shows available online, the traditional business models for TV are being challenged. Protecting that revenue, and building on it, is critical to the success of content providers — and multichannel distributors. Today cable operators are exploring Internet "authentication" services, which grants access to troves of content not yet available online only to their video subscribers. But several key issues demand clarification. For example, how exactly will content be protected from piracy? This webcast will address the legal issues, the business opportunities and the technical solutions involved launching a successful authentication service. Moderated by: Mark Robichaux, Editor-in-Chief, Multichannel News. Panelists: Michael Bishara, Senior Vice President HBO Broadband, Lawrence Meli, President Vobile Inc.
